In the continuing activities of the week-long International Faculty Mobility exercises, professors from Universitas Kristen Krida Wacana (UKRIDA) of West Jakarta, Indonesia, visit various agencies and communities around Borongan City to share their respective expertise on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
As an engineer and an expert in ergonomics, Dr. Ir, Iwan Aang Soenandi, was ushered by the members of the College of Technology (COT) faculty for his visit with the Department of Public Works & Highways (DPWH), Department of Information & Communications Technology (DICT), Eastern Samar Electric Cooperative (ESAMELCO), and the ECC Engine Care Center to share his inputs on workplace designs and modifications.
Dr. Iwan shared the importance of designing or arranging workplaces, products, and systems so that they fit the people who use them instead of the other way around. Ergonomics aims to improve workspaces and environments to minimize risk of injury or harm. So as technologies change, so too does the need to ensure that the tools we access for work, rest, and play are designed for our body’s requirements.
