In partnership with the College of Agriculture (CAg), the University's Training and Extension Services Office (TESO) conducted a turnover, profiling, weighing, and vitamin administration of goats on January 22 and January 24 to two different beneficiary groups in Brgy. Calicoan and Brgy. Balacdas last week.
The said activity is part of the sustainability initiatives of the University to one of the four farmer organizations it supports with its project entitled "Infusion of S&T Intervention for Disadvantaged Communities in Borongan City," in alignment with the Poverty Reduction, Livelihood, and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
The project specifically benefits the Balacdas Vegetable Farmers Association and the Borongan Cacao Producers and Processors Association. This endeavor is made possible through the Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) Program of DOST.
The ESSU team is led by Dr. Edmundo A. Campoto, former University President and currently serving as Research and Extension Consultant, alongside Dr. Lito D. Lacaba, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension, with officials from the Training and Extension Services Office and faculty experts from the College of Agriculture.
