SSAA's Dr. Lapada Leads Consultative meeting on faculty & Student Policy on AI Use

Tackling one of the most pressing issues of the present time, Dr. Aris A. Lapada, Dean of the Student Services and Alumni Affairs (SSAA) of the Main Campus, spearheaded a consultative meeting with the faculty members on finalizing the Policy on AI Usage for Students & Faculty, held at the Research & Development Services Office (RDSO) on Friday, February 7, 2025.

Obtaining a meaningful discourse with the faculty members, the policy covers the ethical usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Academic and Administrative Applications, Research (undergraduate and graduate), Thesis and Dissertation Writing, and Course Assignments, Exams & Other Academic Submissions.

The said policy will apply to all students, faculty, staff, and research collaborators at ESSU who engage with Al technologies in academic settings. Furthermore, the rules will set boundaries on Al usage to ensure faithfulness to the fundamental ethical principles of the institution, maintain the integrity and quality of academic outputs, and protect students from misuse of Al tools that could undermine their learning process.
