Owing to a steadfast dedication to excellence, ESSU organized a Seminar on Quality Assurance in the Context of the Philippine Qualifications Framework (PQF), Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC), and SUC Leveling on February 19, 2024, at the Canuctan Hall.
The CHED Regional Office 8 Director, Dr. Maximo C. Aljibe, University President, Dr. Andres C. Pagatpatan, Jr., Vice President for External Affairs and Quality Assurance, Dr. Marina S. Apilado, ESSU Can-avid Campus Administrator, Dr. Geronimo A. Ellado, college deans, faculty members, and staff were in attendance during the seminar.
The seminar aimed to provide a deeper understanding of the standards set by the PQF and COPC, as well as the importance of SUC leveling in ensuring quality education at the University. Dr. Aljibe underscored the need for compliance with these frameworks and instruments to safeguard the quality assurance of academic programs and the University as a whole.
In addition, Dr. Pagatpatan's opening remarks set the tone for a culture of excellence and accountability at the University, with a focus on continuous improvement and adherence to quality assurance standards. He strongly emphasized collaboration and dedication from all University personnel to prioritize this goal and work diligently towards it. Meanwhile, Dr. Apilado highlighted the significance of attaining COPC among all academic programs, compliance with PQF, and SUC Leveling for accreditation and recognition purposes. She further stressed that these are essential in ensuring that the University meets the highest level of educational quality and excellence.
As the activity drew to a close, the Bachelor of Science in Criminology program of the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) of ESSU Main Campus was officially awarded with the COPC. CHEDRO8 Director, Dr. Aljibe, personally presented the certificate to University President, Dr. Pagatpatan, CCJE College Dean, Dr. Eleazar S. Balbada, and the college's faculty and staff.
The University looks forward to expanding this success to other academic programs and ultimately achieving 100% compliance with CHED's COPC this year.
