The Canuctan Hall sparkled with glamour from the candidates and roared with boisterous cheer from the crowd on Friday night, October 25, 2024, as the candidates for the Mr. & Ms. ESSU 2024 showcased their style, beauty, and intelligence in the much-anticipated coronation night held during the three-day 2024 Inter Campus Meet from October 24 to 26, 2024.

With thousands tuning in to the live stream via the Eastern Samar State University Facebook page and hundreds of supporters cheering on their candidates at the venue, seven pairs from the different ESSU campuses battled in a contest of poise and grace under pressure, including two pairs from ESSU Salcedo and a pair each from ESSU Borongan, ESSU Guiuan, ESSU Maydolong, ESSU Can-avid, and ESSU Arteche.

To open the pageant, the contestants walked the stage in their Maranao-inspired ethnic attire for their formal introductions. The hopefuls were then tested for quick thinking and sound reasoning in the question-and-answer preliminary round. The stage was set aflame as contestants made their next appearance in their matching hot red swimwear outfits. In their next exposure, the candidates then wowed the audience while donning their glamorous white formal wear. As the Top 5 was announced, the remaining pairs were again subjected to another round of question and answer portions.
When all was said and done, Mr. Ken Capoquian of ESSU Can-Avid and Ms. Fiona Marishka Morte of ESSU Borongan found the crowns nestled on their heads as Mr. & Ms. ESSU 2024, respectively.

Meanwhile, Aron Noel Salazar of ESSU Guiuan and Jodie Javines of ESSU Salcedo were declared 1st runner-up; Ralph Ed Capales of ESSU Borongan and Juliana Quirante of ESSU Guiuan were 2nd runner-up; Neil Angelo Villarazo of ESSU Salcedo and Angel Marjorie Damaran of ESSU Can-Avid were 3rd runner-up; and Jolius Rambrinto of ESSU Salcedo and Princess Jelaine Elpedez of ESSU Maydolong were 4th runner-up.

The University extends its gratitude to the board of judges who made the Mr. & Ms. ESSU 2024 coronation night a huge success, chaired by Borongan City Division Sports Officer, Mr. Abner C. Aclao, along with his panel members Arch. Jed C. Cajate, Mr. John Manuel Y. Velasco, Ms. Rey A. Estrobo, Ms. Annie Afable, and Hon. Millord B. Bagaindoc.
