The Research and Development Services Office (RDSO) held a 2-Day Scientific Paper Presentation Workshop for faculty researchers across all campuses at the 2nd floor of the Central Library, ESSU Main Campus, on August 29-30, 2024.
Serving as the resource speakers were professors Bryan Joseph T. Matillano and Argie Anthony C. Inciso from the Leyte Normal University, who shared their experience and proficiency in research presentations.
Research is one of the major functions of ESSU, with specific targets set every year to keep up the status of the university and in compliance with various departments and agencies of the government inclined in assessing SUCs. Research paper presentation plays a big role in valuing data processed from conducted research. The said activity will also be registered with the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of the faculty participants. Each participant is assumed to earn CPD points subject to approval of the PRC.
Together with the resource speakers, RDSO Director, Dr. Ma. Natalia A. Ciasico, served as the reviewing panel for the mock presentations, which made the activities a lot more engaging. As the finale of the 2-day sessions, the participating faculty researchers were ranked and the top presenters were recognized.
ESSU Guiuan's Prof. Jordan M. Cabaguing, Program Head of the BS Tourism Management, came out on top with an overall score of 97%; Prof. Leni A. Alzate, Program Head of ESSU Main's College of Communication, and Mr. Rey Niel Salac of ESSU Main's College of Science were tied at second place, both scoring 94%; while Mr. Rommel Abing of ESSU Main's College of Agriculture took the 3rd place with a 92% score.
