The Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) of Eastern Samar paid a courtesy visit to ESSU President, Dr. Andres C. Pagatpatan, Jr., on Thursday, April 10, 2025, to strengthen collaboration in addressing the ongoing African Swine Fever (ASF) concerns within the University.
During the visit, Dr. Melanie Osita, Assistant Department Head of PVO-Eastern Samar, led the discussion with ESSU officials and employees. She provided updates on the current ASF situation in the area, shared vital information on containment measures, and emphasized the importance of early detection and biosecurity practices.
The initiative aimed to raise awareness and encourage proactive steps in protecting the University’s livestock resources and ensuring the safety of the broader community.
