ESSU's International Affairs Office welcomed three esteemed professors from the Universitas Kristen Krida Wacana (UKRIDA) of West Jakarta, Indonesia, on Monday, October 7, 2024, taking them on a campus tour around the different colleges on the Main Campus to start off their week-long engagement in ESSU.
The Indonesian team is led by Dr. Ir. Iwan Aang Soenandi, UKRIDA's Director of Research & Community Service, accompanied by Dr. Inneke Kusumawati Susanto, Medical Doctor for BioMed, and Dr. Ivan Tanra, Mechanical Engineer for Smart Systems and Head of UKRIDA's Research Unit. The guests will be busy the whole week to provide lectures for students and members of the faculty and to conduct community workshops with some locals during their entire visit as part of the International Faculty Mobility Program, which is a partnership between the two institutions.
Serving as the welcoming committee for the guests are ESSU's Director and Assistant Director for Internationalization Program, Prof. Marijun Leonor T. Obon and Dr. Katherine A. Corado, respectively, along with Public Relations and Information Management Office (PRIMO) Director, Ms. Maria Ayreen B. Elpedes.
For the campus tour, the ESSU team showed their Indonesian counterparts around the facilities and laboratories at the College of Nursing & Allied Sciences (CONAS), College of Technology (COT), College of Engineering (COE), and the College of Science (CS) as they were warmly received by the leadership and faculty of the said colleges.
The welcome program culminated in the partaking of the Teachers' Day Celebration along with the entire ESSU faculty at the Canuctan Hall, where the visitors were treated to the world renowned Filipino hospitality and ESSU's own distinct flavor of warm reception, which they clearly appreciated.
