Through the sponsorship of the Office of the University President, Dr. Andres C. Pagatpatan, Jr. himself organized a Research Writing Workshop Using AI at the Canuctan Hall over the weekend, February 1 and 2, 2025.
Dr. Jay P. Picardal, a native of Oras, Eastern Samar, and the Director of Cebu Normal University's (CNU) Research Institute for Tropical Biology & Pharmacological Biotechnology, served as the Resource Speaker for the seminar workshop. Members of the audience were around a hundred and fifty (150) students from ESSU Main's graduate school currently looking to complete their master's and doctorate degrees thesis & dissertation.
The participants were treated to a revealing & highly informative workshop from Dr. Picardal's broad experience and expertise in scientific research writing. For this activity, the seminar focused on utilizing AI by taking advantage of its efficient multiplying capabilities while applying human touch and critical thinking to strike a perfect balance in the use of the said technology in academic research.
Facilitating the two-day seminar and serving as auxiliary resource persons were the OIC Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Aris A. Lapada, and Mr. Jason D. Magalona.
