Four Programs of ESSU Main Graduate School Submits to CHED Validation

Following the evaluation of the College of Engineering (COE) programs, four (4) Graduate School programs of the ESSU Main campus underwent a Joint Technical Committee and RQAT (Regional Quality Assessment Team) validation process today, March 6, 2025, via a hybrid session.
 
Dr. Catherine O. Iglesias, OIC Supervising Education Program Specialist, was on site to lead the team of evaluators. Her group included Dr. Aimee Lynn B. Dupo, Dr. Rosana P. Mula, Dr. Adolfo C. Manuel, Jr., Dr. Tonette M. Laude, Dr. Maria Cynthia Oliveros, Dr. Jonar Yago, and Ms. May de Mesa Zapanta, who were all dialed in via Zoom. In attendance at the Graduate School (GS) was the ESSU leadership led by University President, Dr. Andres C. Pagatpatan, Jr.; Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Vicente A. Agda, Jr.; Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension, Dr. Lito D. Lacaba; and Vice President for Administration, Dr. Rhodora C. Mendoza.
 
The programs submitted for evaluation are the Master’s in Agricultural Sciences Major in Animal Science, Master’s in Agricultural Sciences Major in Crop Science, Doctor of Philosophy in Animal Science, and Doctor of Philosophy in Crop Science. GS Dean, Dr. Sharon B. Singzon, was joined by her program heads and faculty in presenting their documentary evidence and addressing queries from the evaluators.
 
In summary, the evaluators highlighted the need for updated course syllabi for the said programs and well-defined course outcomes specific to each program. Per their standard process, the evaluation team raised their deciding adjudication up for reconsideration, pending the institution’s compliance with the recommendations provided.
