First Ever Intramural Games in Five Years Concludes to a Resounding Success

Making its return for the first time after the pandemic, the 2024 ESSU Main Campus Intramural Games concluded on Friday, September 27, 2024, with the same vigor as when the games opened on Wednesday.

The Grandstand was filled with student supporters and student athletes alike for the closing and awarding ceremonies, beaming with anticipation. Intramurals 2024 came to a proper emphatic return, with many of the games highly contested until the last whistle.

This year's version of the games was made successful by the diligent efforts and management of ESSU Main's Sports Director, Prof. Robby Ylanan, and the Assistant Sports Director, Prof. Gloria Cleta Corado, augmented by the solid support of the tournament managers, officiating officials, and coaches in the various sports.

For the 2024 games, Unit 4—White Falcons composed by the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE), College of Technology (COT), and College of Hospitality Management (CHM) emerged as the big winners among the four competing units.

The White Falcons finished as the overwhelming overall champions with 43 gold medals and 83 total podium finishes. Unit 3—Yellow Tigers placed second with 12 golds and 40 total medals; Unit 2—Blue Marlins finished third with 10 golds and 31 total medals, while Unit 1—Red Dragons placed fourth with 10 golds and 27 total podium finishes.
