ESSU-UKRIDA Research Networking Partnership Take Shape

The University's International Affairs Office, through its Director, Prof. Marijun Leonor T. Obon, and the Research and Development Services Office (RDSO), led by its Director, Dr. Delbert A. Dala, formalized a research networking session yesterday, October 10, 2024, at the 2nd Floor Central Library, ESSU Main Campus.

Representatives from the College of Computer Studies (CCS), the College of Technology (COT), the College of Engineering (COE), the College of Agriculture (CAg), the College of Science (CS), and the College of Nursing & Allied Sciences (CONAS) presented their respective research agendas before their visiting counterparts from Universitas Kristen Krida Wacana (UKRIDA) of West Jakarta, Indonesia.

The said activity is part of the week-long International Faculty Mobilization exercises taking place at the moment. The research networking program between ESSU and UKRIDA was born in response to pressing global issues such as climate change, public health crises, and technological advancement. This exercise serves as a benchmarking activity and sharing of best practices to identify the strengths and proficiencies of one party that will be useful for the other in terms of research.

By bringing together faculty and researchers from both institutions, the meeting creates opportunities for collaborative research projects. Both ESSU and their Indonesian counterparts got the chance to share their research findings, methodologies, and best practices. This exchange of ideas is expected to enhance the quality of research output and introduce new perspectives that may not be prevalent within each institution. Establishing formal connections such as this will lead to future collaborations, joint publications, and shared grants, thereby increasing both universities' visibility and impact in the academic community.
