ESSU Strengthens Global Ties Through UKRIDA's UGMP Virtual International Student Mobility

ESSU's Internationalization Programs Office, under the leadership of its Director, Ms. Maria Ayreen B. Elpedes, demonstrated its unwavering support for the 2025 UKRIDA Global Mobility Program (UGMP) Virtual International Inbound Students Initiative during a Welcoming and Sending Off Ceremony and Program Orientation, held on February 21, 2025, at the STRDIC Building, ESSU Main Campus.

All ESSU students enrolled in different course packages of UKRIDA for the entire Spring Semester 2025 gathered at ESSU Main Campus for the Welcoming and Sending Off Ceremony, which was conducted via the Zoom platform. A total of forty (40) students from ESSU Main, Maydolong, Can-avid, Salcedo, and Guiuan campuses, accompanied by their respective campus Internationalization Heads, participated in the activity.

These students are set to engage in a diverse range of academic disciplines, including Financial Technologies, Digital Marketing, Public Sector Accounting, and Popular Culture, through UKRIDA’s Virtual International Inbound Student Initiative.

Also present in the venue to give their support and add significance to the event were Dr. Jocelyn S. Castro, Vice President for External Affairs and Quality Assurance, and Ms. Jescel Hannah Ambida, Assistant Director for ESSU's Internationalization Programs.

The Welcoming and Sending Off Ceremony and Program Orientation was organized by UKRIDA through its Director and International Relations Coordinator, Ms. Tirza Tubalawony, for its partner universities, including ESSU. During the event, Ms. Tubalawony provided a comprehensive orientation, ensuring that students were well-informed about the program’s structure, session formats, and overall objectives. She also offered an exciting glimpse into what participants could expect throughout the program.

The UGMP is designed to offer a hybrid learning experience, seamlessly integrating theoretical knowledge with real-world applications. Through immersive academic, cultural, and language-based engagements, UKRIDA aims to equip students with essential international competencies and soft skills crucial for global participation.
