Eastern Samar State University joined Samar State University in celebrating a historic milestone—the Investiture Rites of SSU’s 4th University President, Dr. Redentor S. Palencia, yesterday, February 13, 2025, at SSU Gymnasium, Catbalogan City.
Representing ESSU on behalf of the University President, Dr. Andres C. Pagatpatan, Jr., was Dr. Jerald P. Torillo, ESSU Maydolong Campus Administrator and University Procurement Officer, together with Ms. Maria Ayreen B. Elpdes, Director for Public Relations and Information Management Office, and Internationalization Programs Office.
The presence of ESSU on this historic occasion was more than ceremonial—it was a heartfelt expression of the University’s full support for the new leadership of SSU. By standing alongside Dr. Palencia and the SSU community, ESSU reaffirmed its commitment to a shared vision of excellence, collaboration, and progress in higher education.
Over the years, ESSU and SSU have worked together on various academic collaborations, research initiatives, community development programs, and quality assurance that have made a positive impact. The University is optimistic that these endeavors will flourish further under Dr. Palencia’s leadership.
As Dr. Palencia takes on the role of SSU’s new torchbearer, ESSU extends its unwavering support and looks forward to continuing its fruitful partnership with SSU, driven by a shared mission of empowering communities through quality education and innovation.
