ESSU President Dr. Pagatpatan Leads Collaborative Efforts to Establish College of Water Management for Sustainable Solutions

Never resting in his toil for the betterment of the University, ESSU President Dr. Andres C. Pagatpatan, Jr., met with representatives from the Borongan City Engineering Office at the Faculty Lounge, ESSU Main Campus, on August 15, 2024, for a brainstorming activity to discuss matters concerning the potential and viability of establishing the College of Water Resource Management in the University.

Dr. Deogracias C. Paano, Borongan City Project Management Officer, Engr. Lucito R. Afable, Borongan City Engineer, and Engr. Elmer A. Dulfo, Engineer III, were warmly welcomed by College of Engineering Dean, Engr. Ressa J. Candido, Public Relations and Information Management Office (PRIMO) Director, Ms. Maria Ayreen B. Elpedes, Supervising Administrative Officer (Budget Officer IV), Ms. Gemma B. Paano, and College of Education faculty member, Ms. Czarina A. Regis.

Dr. Pagatpatan expresses that while the province and the country are rich in natural water resources, there is a clear lack of expertise to manage and maximize utilization of these resources to serve the needs of the entire population, a predicament that the said college intends to address.

ESSU is determined to pursue the goal, driven by a genuine commitment to innovation and excellence in order to tackle pressing needs and its undeniable relevance in the current national and local landscape concerning safe water sufficiency.
