ESSU Main Campus solemnly observed the beginning of the Lenten season with the celebration of the Ash Wednesday Holy Mass today, March 5, 2025, at the Canuctan Hall.
Faculty members, staff, and students gathered in unity to receive the imposition of ashes, signifying repentance and renewal of faith. The Holy Mass was presided over by University Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Christian Ofilan, who emphasized the significance of Ash Wednesday as a time of reflection, prayer, and spiritual renewal.
As the ashes marked their foreheads, the ESSU community is reminded of life’s fleeting nature and the call to turn back to God with sincere hearts. This solemn observance not only deepened their faith but also strengthened their commitment to live with humility, compassion, and purpose throughout the Lenten season.
