ESSU Main Campus Holds Thanksgiving Mass and Awarding Ceremonies for Second Batch of Graduands

Thanksgiving Mass and Awarding Ceremonies for the second batch of graduands were held today, June 9, 2024, at Canuctan Hall. The College of Law, College of Science, College of Agriculture, College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, College of Technology, College of Criminal Justice Education, College of Arts and Social Sciences, and College of Business Management & Accountancy comprised this batch of graduands.

University President, Dr. Andres C. Pagatpatan, Jr., delivered an inspiring address that underscored the institution's recent accomplishments, including the most recent surge of exceptional licensure examination performances across the various colleges and numerous national and international accreditations. Dr. Pagatpatan also highlighted the upcoming projects and programs of ESSU, which all contribute to the institution's increasing reputation in the national tertiary education landscape.

Zyrah Allysha Jean T. Baldago, Magna Cum Laude of the BS in Accountancy program; Mariel Q. Araneta, Magna Cum Laude of the BS in Fisheries program; and, Bethelyn Joy A. Madeja, Cum Laude of the BA in Political Science program, all took the podium to share their respective inspirational stories. They dsicussed their struggles as members of the pandemic batch who were required to attend online classes for their first two years of college, as well as their remarkable academic success.

Key University officials, including the Vice Presidents, College Deans, Associate Deans, and Faculty Members, were in attendance once more. The University chaplain, Rev. Fr. Christian Ofilan, reiterated his message of service, reminding the graduates to use their newfound opportunity to assist not only their families but also the communities and society at large, as he had done in the first batch.

The 61st Commencement Exercises of the second batch will be conducted at the same location tomorrow, June 10, 2024.
