In the most anticipated moment for the students, their proud parents and guardians, the first batch of graduates of Eastern Samar State University Main Campus’ 61st Commencement Exercises marched on the red carpet beaming with contented smile, took to the stage to receive their diplomas and celebrated by taking pictures with their families, unmindful of the relative heat in the jam packed venue; everyone finally seeing the conclusion of their years of hard work & sacrifices, and now ready for bigger challenges.
Honoring this special occasion with her presence as Commencement Speaker is Deputy Speaker and Las Piñas City Lone District Representative, Hon. Camille A. Villar. At the conclusion of her commencement speech, Hon. Villar presented a special academic distinction award to Mr. John Wendel J. Buenaflor, Magna Cum Laude of the BSED (Mathematics) program. Mr. Buenaflor received a medal, a certificate, and a cash incentive.
Moreover, in attendance in the ceremony as Guests of Honor are Minority Floor Leader & 4Ps Party List Representative, Hon. Marcelino C. Libanan, and Eastern Samar Governor, Hon. Ben P. Evardone.
University key officials led by ESSU President, Dr. Andres C. Pagatpatan, Jr., Vice Presidents, Deans, Associate Deans and faculty were in full attendance for the momentous event. Graduates from the College of Hospitality Management, College of Nursing and Allied Sciences, College of Computer Studies, College of Education, College of Engineering and Graduate School compose the first batch of the 2024 graduates.
