In a pivotal moment for the University's internationalization pursuits, ESSU officially puts pen to paper on its partnership with Rosewood International College (RIC) of Sydney, Australia, and Choice Education Group in a Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony yesterday, December 5, 2024, at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati City, Metro Manila.
The said Transnational Education (TNE) agreement is a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on academic cooperation between ESSU and RIC, an Australian Skills and Qualifications Authority (ASQA) recognized institution that will deliver ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology to domestic and international students.
The program is proposed to start next school year, 2025-2026, upon approval by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). The course will be delivered in person for two semesters as a special education program for BS IT students and other students interested in enrolling. Students who will finish the program will earn diplomas from RIC and may take the advanced education program in Australia to earn the full BSIT degree.
On behalf of RIC, Commissioner Bernice Vanguardia of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade); Regional Business Development Manager, Steve Lim; Business Development Manager, Kimberley Cuesta; and Business Development Office-PH Representative, Alexander Cabales II, were present for the MOU signing.
Meanwhile, ESSU was ably represented by the University President, Dr. Andres C. Pagatpatan, Jr., and International Affairs Director, Prof. Marijun Leonor T. Obon, with Minority Floor Leader and 4Ps Party List Representative, Hon. Marcelino C. Libanan, showing support for ESSU as always, to complete the ESSU representation for the said MOU signing.
