Eastern Samar State University took the lead in the conduct of the Cluster 2, Inter-Agency, Level 2 Research Development and Extension (RDE) Review held at the ESSU Guiuan Campus Amphitheater on August 8 - 9, 2024.
The review involved researchers from the member institutions of Visayas Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic and Resources Program (ViCARP) - Cluster 2. As the lead institution, ESSU spearheaded the planning and coordination of the said review. ESSU Vice President for Research and Extension, Dr. Lito D. Lacaba took the lead in organizing the affair along with ESSU Main Campus' Director for Research and Development Services, Dr. Ma. Natalia A. Ciasico.
Cluster 2 is composed of the seven agencies: PLGU Samar, PLGU Eastern Samar, PLGU Northern Samar, Samar State University (SSU), Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU), University of Eastern Philippines (UEP) and Eastern Samar State Universities. The aforementioned are member agencies of the Visayas Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic and Resources Program (ViCARP), a consortium whose main goal is to enhance research and extension programs, projects and activities in agriculture and natural resources in Eastern Visayas.
The RDE review is an annual activity whereby member agencies present research and extension outputs in the areas of production, processing, socio-economics, and communication with emphasis on commodities of major importance in the region. These outputs are previously reviewed thoroughly at the Agency Level (Level 1) and endorsed by the VP for Research and Extension or Research Coordinators for further evaluation at Level 2.
