ESSU Champions Local Farmers: Essential Materials and Coordination Meeting Held for Sustainable Goat Production Project in Borongan City

Eastern Samar State University (ESSU), through its Training and Extension Services Office (TESO), turned over essential construction materials and held a coordination meeting yesterday, January 15, 2025, for the sustainability of the Goat Production Project under the "Infusion of S&T Intervention for Disadvantaged Communities in Borongan City."
 
This initiative, funded by DOST through the Community Empowerment thru Science and Technology (CEST) program, supports the Balacdas Vegetable Farmers Association headed by Mr. Reynaldo Lapada, and the Borongan Cacao Producers and Processors Association headed by Mr. Godofredo Duzon of Brgy. Calicoan, Borongan City.
 
The event was led by Dr. Edmundo Campoto, former ESSU President and now University Consultant, alongside Dr. Lito D. Lacaba, VP for Research and Extension, Dr. Emilia L. Baquilod, former VP and currently University Consultant, and Dr. Natalia A. Ciasico, TESO Director, with her staff and faculty members from the College of Agriculture.
 
The Department of Science and Technology - Eastern Samar Provincial Office, represented by Senior Science Research Specialist, Mr. Mark William Gonzales, and his team, also witnessed the activity. The turnover and meeting underscored the commitment to ensuring the project's long-term success and empowering local farmers through innovative, science-based solutions.
