Led by ESSU President, Dr. Andres C. Pagatpatan, Jr., and the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), Dr. Vicente A. Agda, Jr., the University's College of Medicine Technical Working Group (TWG) conducted another benchmarking trip, this time at West Visayas State University (WVSU) in Iloilo City and at Cebu Normal University (CNU) in Cebu City on February 14 and 15, 2025, respectively.
With the target offering of ESSU's very own College of Medicine getting closer by the day, the benchmarking activity at WVSU - College of Medicine and CNU - Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (CNU-VSMMC) College of Medicine earned the team even more inspirational inputs in terms of technology acquisition and installation of physical facilities required that will ensure that ESSU's CM levels up with the current professional standards.
Completing the ESSU benchmarking team for this trip were Guiuan Campus Administrator, Prof. Jared Harem Q. Celis; ESSU Main's Dean of the Student Services and Alumni Affairs (SSAA), Dr. Aris A. Lapada; ESSU Main Faculty Association President, Dr. Delbert A. Dala; Mr. Francis Kim Agus; and Mr. Deo Nicart.
Moreover, as part of the visit to Cebu City, the team also engaged in the processing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC). This initiative was facilitated through discussions with Dr. Anton Oliver A. Reposar II, CCMC Assistant Chief of Hospital, and Atty. Ken Lanvin L. Sayruddin. The MOA aims to establish a collaborative partnership between ESSU and CCMC, ensuring access to quality medical training and clinical exposure for ESSU’s future College of Medicine students.
