Eastern Samar State University and Outbound Education Forge Partnership for Student Internship Abroad Program

Eastern Samar State University (ESSU) and Outbound Education and Internship (OBEI) have formalized a partnership for the implementation of the Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP) through a ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on January 10, 2025, at the ESSU Faculty Lounge.

Representing ESSU was its University President, Dr. Andres C. Pagtapatan Jr., while OBEI was represented by its Executive Director for Eastern Visayas Operations, Mr. John Jerick F. Postreros. This partnership is expected to provide students with international internship opportunities, enhancing their global competencies and practical knowledge.

A key milestone in this collaboration was OBEI’s sponsorship of a site visit for ESSU representative, Mr. Franco Luis Luteria, at The Peninsula Bangkok, Thailand, on December 13-15, 2024. The Peninsula Bangkok will serve as the Foreign Host Establishment for the Hospitality Management Program internship, ensuring high-quality international training for ESSU students.

The event was witnessed by esteemed university officials, including Dr. Jocelyn S. Castro, Vice President for Quality Assurance and External Affairs; Dr. Aris A. Lapada, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Debbie Joyce R. Voloso, University and Board Secretary; Ms. Maria Ayreen B. Elpedes, Director for Internationalization Programs; Dr. Lucila A. Caballa-Habac, Director for the Student Internship Program; and Mr. Franco Luis Luteria, Associate Dean of the College of Hospitality Management Program.

This partnership marks a significant step forward in ESSU’s commitment to preparing its students for the global stage through impactful international collaborations.
