DOST Conducts Inspection and Tagging of SMART Program Project Equipment

As grateful beneficiaries of the Smart and Sustainable Communities Program (SMART Program) of the Department of Science & Technology (DOST), ESSU warmly welcomed a team from DOST on Monday, February 17, 2025, for the Inspection and Tagging of Equipment purchased by the University from the funding awarded by the Department.
 
ESSU Project Leader and Center Director, Engr. Elizabeth Z. Calvo, warmly received the visitors from DOST RO8 composed of Mr. Prospero T. Peque - AOV, Supply and Property Unit; Ms. Jenifer R. Dacoycoy - PTA II; Mr. Ryan P. Juan - PTA I; and Ms. Hanna T. Olaguer - PTA III to facilitate the inspection & tagging.
 
The project, which is tagged STI Ecosystem Development Toward Smart and Sustainable Program of Borongan City, is a collaborative venture between the Science & Technology Department and the Local Government Unit of Borongan City.
 
To date, the project has produced significant outputs such as a Real-Time RFID Property Management Tracking System, a Smart Web-based Queuing Management Portal with Mobile Functionality, a Research Information and Management System, and Digitized Theses & Dissertations with Online Public Access Catalog, among others.
