ESSU Main Campus' College of Nursing and Allied Sciences (CONAS) held a testimonial dinner at the Teatro Ibabawnon on August 13, 2024 in honor of the BS Nursing and BS Midwifery passers in the 2024 results of the licensure examinations for the said programs held on May and April of this year, respectively.
A quick motorcade took place around Borongan City before the ceremonies began at the Teatro Ibabawnon. University President, Dr. Andres C. Pagatpatan Jr., delivered the opening message, expressing his congratulations to the new professionals and commending the faculty and leadership of the said college most especially for maintaining a 100% passing rate in the BS Nursing Program for the 5th consecutive year.
In the 2024 results, 23 new Registered Nurses (RN) and 8 new Registered Midwives (RM) emerged from ESSU Main Campus, further adding to the ever growing reputation of the University as a trusted provider of higher education. A couple of the new RNs and one of the new RMs spoke in front of the audience, recalling their struggles, small wins and notable moments in the campus. In a touching tribute, the new professionals also made sure to thank their mentors in the CONAS faculty including those who have already left ESSU.
Apart from expressing their gratitude, the testimonial speakers also gave valuable tips and best practices to the fresh graduates who will soon be taking the PNLE and MLE exams this coming November as well as to provide inspiration to the audience that included senior students from the Nursing and Midwifery programs.
In their respective messages, CONAS Dean, Prof. Mark Bency M. Elpedes, RN, RM, MAN, and BS Nursing Program Head, Prof. Ray Dominic Ladera, RN, MAN profusely congratulated the honorees and reminded them along with the students present to bring with them the values that ESSU has sown in them wherever their success may lead them. After the ceremonies, a sumptuous dinner was shared by everyone on the second floor of the central library.
