College of Medicine TWG Convenes for Syllabus Review

Members of the College of Medicine Technical Working Group (TWG) met once again for the Presentation, Critiquing and Evaluation of the Syllabus for the proposed Doctor of Medicine Program held at the Presidents Conference Room, Administration Building of the Main Campus yesterday, December 5, 2024.

All four vice presidents of the University were in full attendance along with the rest of the TWG members. For the said session, ESSU was privileged to be aided by Jipapad Mayor, Hon. Benjamin E. Ver, as the consultant. An experienced surgeon, Dr. Ver has many years of public health experience, most significantly as the visionary chairman of the Northern Samar Provincial Hospital, responsible for elevating the hospital into medical center status before deciding to foray into local government service.

With Dr. Ver's expert inputs, the team deliberated on how the actual course syllabus will look before it is finalized and submitted to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). The team also touched on how the College of Medicine leadership and faculty will be selected as well as the program composition.

With a few more bases to cover, the entire ESSU leadership is ardently looking forward to the launch of the said college and welcoming future medical doctors and specialists who will serve in the local health sector.
