ESSU Main Campus' College of Education (COED) held a momentous first-ever official Pinning Ceremony and sendoff to their Fourth-year Student Interns at the Teatro Ibabawnon today, January 7, 2025.
While the said activity has long been in practice, this year marks the first time that the said college makes it a bigger and formal event for its interns, similar to the more common practice in the programs of the medical courses, which will now be made a yearly serving for COED.
Taking on a spirit that slightly resembles the yearend commencement exercises, the students were joined by their proud parents and guardians as each of the 98 interns from the BEED and BSED programs marched into the venue and climbed the stage to have their name plates pinned on their internship uniforms, all gleaming with pride and excitement.
Sharing the moment with the students were ESSU President Dr. Andres C. Pagatpatan, Jr., who was represented by College of Law Dean, Atty. Dulce Amor A. Beato, Attorney IV; the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), Dr. Aris A. Lapada; along with the leadership of the College of Education led by their Dean, Dr. Arnel A. Balbin.
In his message, Dr. Balbin boasted of the College’s consistently higher institutional than national passing rate and occasional topnotchers in the board examination results, assuring the students and their parents that the University is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in terms of accreditation and actual practice.
In his message through Atty. Beato, Dr. Pagatpatan reminded the interns of the consequential role that they, as future educators, play in molding the younger generation in the primary and secondary levels to be valuable assets to the society. This message was also echoed by VPAA, Dr. Aris Lapada.
