CHEDRO VIII Team Visits ESSU Anew for Another Programs Validation Process

For the second time in three months, a delegation of evaluators from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office VIII conducted a Program Validation Visit in connection with ESSU's campus-wide COPC application for its various curricular programs on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the Teatro Ibabawnon, ESSU Main Campus.

Once again, CHEDRO VIII Director, Dr. Maximo C. Aljibe, DPM, CESO III, led the evaluation team from the Commission. With him are Dr. Leo D. Camposano, OIC-Chief Education Program Specialist; Dr. Perlita M. Vivero, Member, Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT); Narciso S. Candiza, Education Supervisor (ES) II; Jan Paolo K. Vega, ES II; Emmanuel Antonio A. Lim, ES II; Kenneth C. Yap, Administrative Officer II (Records Officer); Norina T. Espocia, Education Program Specialist (EPS); Evelyn C. Competente, Administrative Assistant III; Judy Ann D. Corpin, PSS I; and Rosielyn A. Abella, PTS I.

In a show of all-out support, the entire ESSU leadership was in attendance, led by University President, Dr. Andres C. Pagatpatan, Jr., along with Vice Presidents, Dr. Aris A. Lapada, VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Jocelyn S. Castro, VP for External Affairs and Quality Assurance, Dr. Rhodora C. Mendoza, VP for Administrative Services, and Dr. Lito D. Lacaba, VP for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services, complimented by the campus administrators, college deans, associate deans, program heads, and faculty members.

Proving to be another highly productive exercise, a total of fifteen (15) programs across all campuses were issued with CHED Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) as a result of the validation visit. Another highlight resulting from the activity is ESSU Can-avid joining ESSU Maydolong in achieving 100% COPC attainment on all its eight program offerings as a campus.

Dr. Aljibe, in his message, underscored the invaluable benefits of earning a COPC for students in their scholarship eligibility, for faculty members for their promotion, and for ESSU as an institution in terms of SUC leveling. On the other hand, Dr. Lapada made clear in his message of commitment and acceptance that the University intends to attain an absolute 100% compliance for all its programs across all campuses. Currently, ESSU stands at 63% compliance as a whole.
