All Presidents of State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs) of Eastern Visayas (Region VIII) were gathered by the CHED-OPSD on January 30, 2025, for a reconciliation meeting at the Office of Programs and Standards Development (OPSD), CHED Central Office, Diliman, Quezon City.
OPSD Director, Dr. Cherrie Melanie Ancheta-Diego, CESO III, and CHEDRO8 Director, Dr. Maximo C. Aljibe, CESO III, led the meeting that centered on the Regional Quality Assessment Team's (RQAT) evaluation of compliance documents for Engineering Programs, also noting the deficiencies found during the joint Technical Committee (TC) and RQAT evaluations.
University President, Dr. Andres C. Pagatpatan, Jr., was joined by ESSU Guiuan Campus Administrator, Prof. Jared Harem Q. Celis, for the said gathering. The meeting also discussed evaluation findings of compliance documents for graduate programs and agreed upon the schedule for the joint TC and RQAT visits for various graduate programs.
Guided by CHED Regional Memorandum Order No. 12, Series of 2025, the discussions in the said meeting sought to ensure that higher education in Region VIII meet the highest standards, reaffirming the collective commitment to quality education that levels up with the rest of the country.
