University officials of the ESSU Main Campus spearheaded by ESSU President, Dr. Andres C. Pagatpatan, Jr., warmly engaged a team of officers from the Borongan City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Station yesterday, August 12, 2024, for an inspection visit.
Along with Vice President for Administration, Dr. Rhodora C. Mendoza, University Board Secretary, Dr. Debbie Joyce R. Voloso, and other concerned officials, Dr. Pagatpatan sat with the BFP team in a pre-inspection briefing at the President's Conference Room to discuss the rationale of the visit and address the findings and recommendations from the last inspection activity undertaken by the Bureau on campus.
The BFP contingent was led by FO3 Reinerio C. Buna, accompanied by FO2 Adonis Regie M. Afable, FO1 Lyndon Rey Abella, FO1 Joey Sunday C. Condrada, and FO1 Mike Jerson Amida. In his discussion, FO3 Buna underscored that along with statutory compliance, their visit seeks to ensure the safety and welfare of the occupants of the different facilities of the University who are mainly the students and employees.
Escorted by UESO Director, Engr. Russel Boy Palce, and IPDES Project Development Officer III, Engr. Jenith M. Banaldia, the BFP team conducted a comprehensive campus-wide inspection of the University's structures, checking the electrical wirings, fire exit facilities, floor layout, and exit plan, among others. A post-inspection debriefing was then held for the findings and recommendations. The BFP team will be conducting regular re-inspections to ensure that their recommendations and the observed focus areas are addressed and that compliance is maintained.
