A Day of Faith and Reflection: ESSU Honors Our Lady of Guadalupe as the University's Patroness

The University Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Christian Ofilan, presided over a Holy Mass today, December 12, 2024, as the ESSU Main Campus community commemorated the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe in honor of the Intercessor of the Unborn. Following the Mass, a solemn procession traversed the campus grounds, symbolizing the University community's shared faith.

This year’s celebration was spearheaded by Asst. Prof. Rebecca A. Corre, a faculty member of the College of Science, who took on the role of Hermana, showcasing both her leadership and devotion in upholding this treasured tradition.

The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe holds a special place in the hearts of the faithful. It serves as a moment for reflection and prayer, emphasizing the sanctity of life and the Virgin Mary's role as a guiding and protective figure.

As ESSU's patroness, her feast day also reinforces the University's spiritual identity and fosters a sense of unity within the community.
