In a distinct blend of ESSU hospitality, the week-long International Faculty Mobility activities with three accomplished Indonesian professors from the Universitas Kristen Krida Wacana (UKRIDA) conclude with a warm exchange of pleasantries from both sides in a formal closing program on Friday, October 11, 2024, at the Teatro Ibabawnon, ESSU Main Campus.
Led by Dr. Ir. Iwan Aang Soenandi, UKRIDA's Director of Research & Community Service, accompanied by Dr. Inneke Kusumawati Susanto, Medical Doctor for BioMed, and Dr. Ivan Tanra, Mechanical Engineer for Smart Systems and Head of UKRIDA's Research Unit, the Indonesian team spared no time in the entire week from October 7 to 11, providing expert lectures and workshops with ESSU faculty, students, and various agencies and establishments around Borongan City.
International Affairs Director, Prof. Marijun Leonor T. Obon, and her team organized a warm conclusion for the visiting professors' visit with proper closing ceremonies and by awarding plaques of appreciation and locally crafted tokens. Heartfelt messages of gratitude from OIC Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), Dr. Aris A. Lapada, and Vice President for Quality Assurance & External Affairs (VPQAEA), Dr. Jocelyn S. Castro both contributed to a warm sendoff.
For their part, the UKRIDA professors also articulated their deep appreciation for the hospitality of ESSU and expressed their hope to be able to come back someday or receive guests from ESSU to their West Jakarta campus in return.
The College of Education (COED) prepared the activities for the closing ceremonies of the International Faculty Exchange Mobility Program in time for the college's ASEAN Integration activities as well. Together with the International Affairs Office, the 5-day engagement with the Indonesian professors was a huge success because of the significant contributions of the VPQAEA, VPAA, the different colleges of ESSU Main Campus, and the Public Relations & Information Management Office (PRIMO).
