With hearts filled with gratitude and prayers of blessing, Eastern Samar State University honors Rev. Msgr. Crispin B. Varquez, D.D. as he celebrates a final Thanksgiving Mass in ESSU on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at the Teatro Ibabawnon, Main Campus.
After nearly two decades of apostolic service in Eastern Samar, Bishop Varquez will soon embark on his new mission as Bishop of Tagbilaran and leaves behind a legacy of faith, compassion, and spiritual leadership that has deeply touched the ESSU community.
Throughout his ministry, his excellency has remained committed to nurturing the spirituality of students and employees alike, recognizing that true education extends beyond academic excellence to the formation of character, values, and faith.
Led by ESSU President, Dr. Andres C. Pagatpatan, Jr. and CHEDRO VIII Director, Dr. Maximo C. Aljibe, the ESSU community thronged the Eucharistic celebration as a show of deep gratitude and to offer their best wishes for the respected Bishop.
As he embraces a new chapter, ESSU expresses its heartfelt gratitude and offers prayers for continued grace and guidance in his episcopal mission in Tagbilaran.
