A Memorandum of Understanding on March 09, 2023 has been signed online between the Eastern Samar State University represented by the university president Dr. Andres C. Pagatpatan, Jr., and University of Hawaii at Hilo represented by the chancellor Dr. Bonnie Irwin. This memorandum will open up opportunities for both universities to deliver faculty and students exchange programs through COIL, research collaborations and program enhancements.
Following the signing ceremony is a meeting about the Co-woring Innovation Center of Hawaii with the COIL Students from US and Japan and Mr. Zendo Kern, Planning Director, County of Hawaii. The creation of a Co-working Innovation Center will be a future collaborative project between both universities for both academic and income generating projects.
Another program being planned to be adopted by ESSU is the Collaborative Online International Learning system. This is planned to be formally implemented on the next school year.
