Research proposals

The event was participated by chosen representatives of different research teams of the ESSU community particularly from the ESSU Main, ESSU Can-avid, ESSU Guiuan, ESSU Maydolong and ESSU Salcedo. Dr. Hilario A. Odivilas, the Director of Research and Development addressed the seminar by giving the Rationale of Research and Development Capability Building.

On the other hand, Dr. Sharon B. Singzon, the Director of Intellectual Property Office also pointed important details about the Presentation of Research Plans and Outputs as Dr. Felix A. Afable, the dean of Graduate School explained the Techniques and Procedures in the Evaluation of Reseach Plans and Output. The deliberation of the research proposals were reviewed and evaluated by Dr. Emilia L. Baquilod, Dr. Gerry O. Ambait and Dr. Rowena P. Capada for the Engineering category; Dr. Felix A. Afable and Prof. Imelda C. Casillano for Agriculture Fisheries and Natural Resources; Dr. Josephine C. Marasigan and Dr. Julius A. Lim for Education Researches; and Dr. Sharon B. Singzon and Prof. Esther Baῆar for Social Science or Health Researches.

The facilitators of the said event were Helen C. Fuentes, Clarinil Ann A. Cabil, Yasmin C. Casillano and Rhea C. Alura. The Best Research Proposals were awarded to Dr. Rowena P. Capada and Kenneth Rey C. Afable for the Engineering category, with the title, “Status of IT Literacy of Elementary and High School Educators of Eastern Samar: Basis for College of Computer Studies Extension Program Development”; to Ray Dominic R. Ladera and Nazli Rose C. Barredo for the Social Science category with the title, “Cancer Risk Reduction (First Phase): Breast Cancer Knowledge, Beliefs, Screening Practices and Behaviors of Employees and Students in Eastern Samar State University Utilizing Health Belief Model” and to Dr. Eva P. Palada, Imelda C. Casillano, Evelyn A. Corado, Yasmin C. Casillano and Ricelle L. Asilo for the Education category, with the title: “Performance of Graduates in the Licensure Examination for Agriculturists: Inputs to Improving the Passing Percentage”.

The program ended with the comments and recommendations of the Chair, Review Evaluation Panel followed by the distribution of certificates headed by the university president, Edmundo A. Campoto and a closing remarks by the Vice President for Academic Affairs Research and Extension, Emilia L. Baquilod.
