Jump In: Pakulo ‘15

Wearing t-shirts in accordance to the respective color of their units, makeshift hats and paraphernalia in hand, the whole of Eastern Samar State University danced to the rhythm of the music during the 2015 Intramurals.
Power surged through their hands, raising them in the air, their shouts and laughter echoing through the whole ground.
A shake here and a twist there, they danced like there was no tomorrow. A feeling of excitement and happiness reflected through each and every smile of the ESSUnians. An hour of practice every after classes these past two days had been worth it, for they had shone with every step they made.

Intramurals is the most awaited event every year especially for the athletes. It is a time to showcase their talents, a time to develop camaraderie and sportsmanship and a time where they compete with pride and honor to represent their respective units.

Dr. Campoto: It’s How You Play The Game

During the official start of the most exciting part of the entire school year, the Intramurals 2015, the respected President of the University, Dr. Edmundo Campoto once again welcomed everyone especially the hopeful athletes during his opening remarks. The annual sporting event is being conducted to find out the best athletes from the university that will be sent to Guiuan to compete in the Quintuple Meet and ultimately in the SCUAA 2015 which will be held at the Visayas State University in Baybay, Leyte.

ESSU Welcomes Intrams 2015

“I hereby declare the Intramurals 2015… OPEN!” the Eastern Samar State University sports director, Mr. Federico M. Suyot Jr., declared as he formally opened the 2015 Intramurals Meet yesterday morning at the ESSU Grandstand.
With various designated colors cheerfully and peacefully dancing and waving around the campus, the event started at 8:05 AM through a parade from the intersection point going to the grandstand by Marshall-ROTC officers, SSC-TSG officers, SPBS staff, and the colleges merged into units with their corresponding coaches, faculty and staff. Unit I, the “Red Dragons,” is composed of College of Engineering (CE), College of Computer Studies (CCS), and School of Vocational Technology (SVT). Unit II as “Blue Angels” consists of College of Education (COED), College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), and College of Law and Criminal Justice (CLCJ).

Ms. COE and Mr. COED grab “Best in Sports Wear”

The ESSUdyantes, together with their faculty and staff, cheered and shouted as support to the candidates for Mr. and Ms. ESSU 2015 as they romped up in stage in their sports attire during the opening of the Intrams yesterday morning.
The “Best in Sportswear” award was given to Ms. Ma. Jessa Banigoos (COE) in her volleyball attire and Mr. Franklin Losanga (COED) in his basketball attire.

Week of Welcome, Matagumpay na Idinaos

Matagumpay na nailunsad ang Week of Welcome (WOW) para sa mga Freshmen and Transferees, sa pangunguna ni Dr. Jonas V. Palada, Ph.D. sa tulong na rin ng iba’t-ibang organisasyon ng mga estudyante, na ginanap sa Eastern Samar State University sa buong buwan ng Hunyo ng taong ito.

Club Signing, Muling Isinagawa

Muling ginanap ang taunang Club Signing na dinaluhan ng mga estudyante ng ESSU Main Campus kasabay ng Freshmen Convocation noong ika-26 ng Hunyo 2015, biyernes ng hapon sa ESSU Multi-Purpose Hall.

SPBS: Ang Bagong Silang na Bersyon

Ika-26 ng Hunyo 2015 – Sa isang simple at maliit na espasyo sa loob ng ESSU Compound partikular na sa mga hanay ng mga clubs na naroon sa student lounge sa labas ng filature, matatagpuan ang SPBS members.
Kani-kaniyang lapit at sagot sa katanungan ng freshmen, kanikaniyang tawag at kani-kaniyang ngiti matapos makitang ang kabataan ay nasiyahan ang iginawad ng isa’t-isa. Habang paliit nang paliit ang bilang ng mga magasing nakalatag sa mesa at mga papel na inihuhulog sa comment box ay palapad nang palapad ang mga ngiti na gumuguhit sa kanilang mukha. Kani-kaniyang mga kilos, iisa ang kanilang ibig patunayan – na masaya ang mapabilang sa Students’ Publication and Broadcasting Services Organization. Ganyan sila kasaya at magiging mas masaya pa bukas at sa susunod na araw, lingo, buwan at taon.

BOR approves Instructional Material Procedural Guidelines

In an urgent need of a policy that will provide the rules and regulations in formulating instructional materials the Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Josephine C. Marasigan, submitted to the Board of Regents a proposal to this effect. The Board of Regents, during its regular quarterly meeting approved the proposed guidelines.

In the guidelines, it prescribes the University to create an Instructional Material Review Committee composed of the College Dean and Department Heads as regular members and two (2) faculty members that will be selected according to their expertise of the subject. The Committee is tasked to review the instructional materials submitted by the members of the college and recommends it for approval of the Instructional Material Review Council.The IMRC is composed of the Vice President for Academic Affairs as Chair, College Deans as regular members, the Program/Department Head where the proponent faculty comes from and two (2) faculty members selected based on their expertise of the subject and academic background.
